A TASTE OF HISTORY

After enjoying dinner at one of Brenham's fine restaurants, why not retire to the sitting room to experience an "historic" after- dinner experience:
Creamy Peach Pie: Ruby Schramm was only five years old when she first moved with her parents, Hannah and Battus, to the South Park house. Found in her 1934 cookbook is an amazing recipe for Creamy Peach Pie in her own handwriting. Prepared with fresh summer peaches and flavored with cinnamon and spices, I'll bet this is one of the best peach pies you have ever eaten (in season - when peaches are out of season, a delicious pecan pie, made from pecan trees at Wrigley House and using the Innkeeper's mother's recipe).
Bluebell Ice Cream with Toasted Pecan and Peach Sauce: What desert could possibly convey Brenham's history more than Bluebell Homemade Vanilla? Top the scoops with homemade peach sauce which contains toasted pecans gathered from the Wrigley House pecan trees. Perfect over the peach pie, or served separately for the "purists".
Independence Roasted Coffee: The last family to live in the house before it became a Bed and Breakfast was the Bond family, who actually started their hugely popular international coffee roasting company, (Independence Coffee www.independencecoffee.com, in what is now Independence Cottage. Select your favorite flavor from several tasty after-dinner coffees to enhance your deserts.

Area businesses may take advantage of reduced rates starting as low as $89 per night, mid-week for their customers, employees, trainees and suppliers. These rates must be booked directly with Wrigley House Bed and Breakfast – not through the online booking tool.

Are you visiting Blue Bell Ice Cream Company or Germania Insurance company? Perhaps you are calling on Blinn College or the Sealy Mattress Factory. Visitors to area businesses are also invited to take advantage of reduced mid-week rates.

Your travelers will be treated to all the amenities of this gracious Bed and Breakfast, yet will still have the business requirements provided by hotels, such as use of a fax/scanner, high-speed internet connections and telephones available for local and national long-distance calls at no charge. Special arrangements can be made for travelers who need and early breakfast. Corporate travel arrangers can earn booking points to be used for free nights or a complimentary brunch.
